It’s a good thing that prior to this I’ve put up videos of shooters like Lords of Thunder and Super Star Soldier. Why? Because I’m horrible at Axelay!
This week we have my favorite horizontal shooter to date, Lords of Thunder. I’m playing on Normal, but that wasn’t enough to carry me through Air Zonk—how will I fare in this TGCD game?
Now that I think of it, there were quite a number of shooters from this game era whose names began with the word “Super” and nonetheless weren’t on the SNES…

It’s almost like a repeat of last week: one horizontal game I really suck at followed by a Star Soldier game that I don’t.
I’m not nearly as good at either game as last week’s selection—which doesn’t make a terribly noticeable difference with R-Type III, but I do rack up deaths a lot quicker in Soldier [...]
